CHEF WANTED FOR STAFF RESTAURANT IN COPENHAGEN, DENMARK
Looking for a chef position in Copenhagen with great working hours, professional cooking and weekends mostly free?
We are looking for a skilled and motivated chef to join our international kitchen team in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Your main workplace will be The Staff Restaurant at Abacus Medicine, located at Kalvebod Brygge in central Copenhagen.
This is a full-time position with working hours primarily Monday to Friday from 06:30 to 14:30 – giving you the opportunity to work in an ambitious professional kitchen while still having your afternoons, evenings and most weekends free.
Occasional evening and weekend events may occur.
THE JOB
You will become part of a professional kitchen team responsible for the daily production and service at our staff restaurant.
We cook from scratch and care about good ingredients, seasonality, flavour and proper craftsmanship.
You will work primarily with hot kitchen production and take responsibility for your own preparation and tasks while working closely with the rest of the team.
Our kitchen is busy, so we are looking for someone who works efficiently and in an organised manner without compromising quality.
Just as importantly, we are looking for a good colleague.
We believe a professional kitchen should be a place where people communicate respectfully, help each other and enjoy coming to work.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
You may already be living in Denmark, or you may be considering moving to Copenhagen from another EU/EEA country.
We would like to hear from you if you:
-
are a trained chef or have equivalent professional kitchen experience
-
have experience from à la carte restaurants, quality staff restaurants, hotels or similar professional kitchens
-
have solid experience in the hot kitchen
-
have a genuine interest in food, ingredients and good craftsmanship
-
can organise your own work and maintain a good pace throughout the day
-
are reliable and comfortable starting work early
-
enjoy working as part of a team
-
communicate in a positive and respectful way
-
can maintain an overview when the kitchen gets busy.
A background in classic French or Mediterranean cuisine would be particularly relevant to our kitchen.
However, we are also interested in chefs who bring their own culinary background and experience. Whether your inspiration comes from France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, North or South America, Asia or somewhere else, we would like to see what you can bring to the team.
We want to taste what you are passionate about.
WHAT WE OFFER
We offer a full-time chef position in central Copenhagen with a working schedule that is unusual in the restaurant industry:
Monday–Friday
Primarily 06:30–14:30
Most evenings and weekends free
You will join a friendly and international workplace with experienced colleagues, high professional standards and room to contribute your own knowledge and ideas.
We value professional pride, teamwork, reliability and a positive working environment.
Our goal is simple: good food, good ingredients, good craftsmanship and a kitchen team that works well together.
MORE THAN A STAFF RESTAURANT
Your daily workplace will be:
The Staff Restaurant at Abacus Medicine
Kalvebod Brygge 35
1560 Copenhagen V
Denmark
Our kitchen also produces food for our small Copenhagen wine bar, Sankt Annæ 8, located in Christianshavn.
Within the same ownership group, we operate several Copenhagen restaurants, including Le Métier, La Propina and Ma Cuisine.
You will therefore become part of a wider restaurant family with different concepts and opportunities for future professional development.
