The Integrative Structural Biology cluster at the University of Copenhagen is looking for a student assistant to assist with communications tasks with effect from 1 November 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. Average working hours will be 10 hours per week.
About us
This student assistant position is based at NordStruct which is is a network for structural biology infrastructure in the Nordic region. It brings together universities and research facilities across Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden to strengthen collaboration, improve access to advanced facilities, and support training in structural biology. Through activities such as mobility grants, collaboration grants, advanced PhD training, topical meetings, and a network for facility managers NordStruct supports researchers at all career stages and helps develop the competencies needed to conduct cutting edge structural biology research. By connecting infrastructures, expertise, and researchers, NordStruct aims to strengthen the international competitiveness of Nordic structural biology and establish the region as a global leader in the field.
Tasks
The primary responsibilities of the student assistant are to assist with administration tasks, including including:
- Collecting information from NordStruct partners
- Helping to coordinate travel and accommodation for international speakers
- Helping to coordinate catering and venue bookings for events
- Scheduling and booking meetings using e.g. doodle
- Helping to prepare background reading material for coordination meetings
- Helping to prepare meeting minutes
- Updating databases in MS Excel
- Updating the NordStruct website using a CMS
- Helping to collect invoices from NordStruct suppliers and partners
Workload:
The position is for a 12 month contract. Varying working hours is to be expected, but the average working hours is 10 hours per week.
About You:
- You are outgoing and good with people
- You are responsible, with good decision-making skills
- You are self-motivated and adaptable
- You are proficient in English. Speaking and/or understanding Danish is a plus
- You are flexible and interested in taking on different tasks.
Terms of salary and employment
Employment conditions will be in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Organizations of Public Employees – governmental institutions (the OAO-S collective agreement) under HK/STAT as HK Student. Your salary will be based on seniority. The employment is conditioned on documentation for active enrolment at a University or similar.
